After a bit of a cultural black hole, we’ve been on another craft related trip, this time to see Pigs on Parade. Pigs on Parade is an art installation consisting of 100 life-sized fibreglass pigs placed throughout Dublin city centre. Each pig has been decorated by an artist or designer. The installation is a fundraiser for the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation and the pigs will be auctioned off next month to make money for the charity. Pigs on Parade was inspired by the Big Egg Hunt, held in 2013, and the Cow Parade.
Yesterday, we had a stroll through the city and did a bit of pig-spotting. We managed to find 24 of the squealers in shopping centres, galleries and St. Stephen’s Green. The pictures here are a few of our favourites, check out the gallery for more.
